Rabbit Island Event 23rd May 2020 information

We are continuing to ease back into events in Alert Level 2  with a second semi-virtual event with four course options, based at the Totara Domain on Rabbit Island/Moturoa.

**Contact Tracing** We need to keep a register of those attending this event, so we ask you to fill in your details on this form online before the event to minimise interaction with our support crew. Also, on arrival, give your name at the registration table so we can log your arrival time.

Participants can run/walk in either direction:
  • in total isolation taking their own time or using Strava
  • on their own but have a little social interaction at registration
  • as a small group (max 8)
Following these guidelines:
  • Sign-up to our contact tracing form is compulsory.
  • Stay home if you’re sick and do not take part in sport or recreation if you have flu-like symptoms.
  • Good personal hygiene practices should continue – wash and dry your hands before and after activities, cough into elbow and don’t touch your face. No gobbing or snotting in the vicinity of others.
  • Physical distancing of 2 metres should be maintained wherever possible, especially from people that you don’t know.
  • If large numbers turn up, you'll be asked to wait your turn and keep social distancing.
  • No social gathering around the start & finish area. Please park your vehicle somewhere away from registration and walk to the start area.
  • Do not mingle with other groups before/after your run/walk. Keep socially distanced wherever possible.
  • This is a "none touch" event. Do not touch any of our equipment or personnel. Bring your own sanitiser if needed.
Times
8am - 12pm  For those wishing to participate in total isolation.
12pm - 3pm We will provide a registration & timing person for those in small groups and for those without timing devices.
4pm Timing crew finish, but individual self-timers may continue.

The event starts and finishes at the junction of the gravel roads between our "normal" start area at the BBQ and the circular concrete toilet block. See map below:

There is a short course of 7.5km and a longer course of 10km. You can do either or both, in either direction. If you are taking your own time, either email it to newsletter@waimeaharriers.nz or give it to the timekeeper  between 12 & 4pm.
