For more than 50 years Waimea Harriers has been encouraging running and walking for people of all ages. We believe running is wonderful for people's fitness and general health! Our motto is 'Run for your life!'
Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.
We pride ourselves on the warm welcome we give to everyone.

The new membership year runs from 1/12/2023 to 30/11/2024 irrespective of joining date.
Individual adult membership is $40.
Joint/Couple/Family membership is $60.
Schoolchildren and youth students are Free.
There is a small surcharge if you pay by credit card.

Upcoming Events
Wallace Shield Race 2
Moturoa/Rabbit Island
20 April 2024
The second event in the popular Wallace Shield series, a fun three-event series of 5km cross country for adult & high school runners and 3.4km for walkers, held at Moturoa/Rabbit Island.
Intermediate school and younger runners can choose 1 lap (1.7km), 2 laps (3.4km) or 3 laps (5km).
The series is on the following Saturdays - 6 Apr, 20 Apr and 4 May.
Registration is from 1.30pm, race briefing 2.20pm and race start 2.30pm.
Points are awarded at each event and members of Waimea Harriers compete for the coveted Wallace Shield (Adults & high school students).
The first 3 Waimea Harrier Juniors over 1, 2 & 3 laps will receive certificates of achievement.
This is a great event for families. Parents are very welcome to run with their children if they want to.
**This event is open to everyone, you do not need to be a member of Waimea Harriers to take part in it.**
Please make sure you are registered with a Waimea Harriers Webscorer number and correct category before the event.

Saturday 20 April
Meet at the “Totara” picnic area. Please arrive by 2pm to avoid a rush.
This 2nd event is "Improve your time!"
The aim is to improve your time from the 1st event. Points awarded based on best improvement.
This Saturday we start in waves at 2:30pm, running around a windy course in the Totara park area.
Keep to the same category as the 1st event to be in the points championship.
