For more than 50 years Waimea Harriers has been encouraging running and walking for people of all ages. We believe running is wonderful for people's fitness and general health! Our motto is 'Run for your life!'
Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.
We pride ourselves on the warm welcome we give to everyone.

The new membership year runs from 1/12/2023 to 30/11/2024 irrespective of joining date.
Individual adult membership is $40.
Joint/Couple/Family membership is $60.
Schoolchildren and youth students are Free.
There is a small surcharge if you pay by credit card.

Māpua Morning Pack Run
Saturday 21 September
If you are not running around Rarotonga or taking part in the Queen Charlotte Relay this Saturday, how about a leisurely group run in Māpua instead?
Meet outside the Tennis Courts on Aranui Road HERE.
Start time: 8:30am
Run or walk duration: About an hour (to be determined by participants on the day) on the flat Māpua 10k course.
Coffee after the run at Java Hut on Aranui Road.

Sprig + Fern Māpua 10k
Saturday 19 October
The Waimea Harriers Sprig + Fern 10km fun run and walk on Saturday 19 October 2024 in Māpua is the last of four 10km events in the Nelson / Tasman area.
Meet on the rear decking of Mapua Community Hall, Aranui Road.
Registration/Check-In opens at 1.20pm and closes at 2pm promptly!

Casual Walkers & very early runners 1:45pm.
Speed Walkers & early runners 2:15pm.
Main running group 2:30pm.
Everyone and all abilities are welcome.
If you do not feel up to doing the full 10km, find a friend and enter as a team and do 5km each. You'll need to get yourselves to and from the 5km mark.
There is a $10 entry fee per event; it's free for school children and youth students, and for Waimea Harriers and AthNelson members.
