Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.

Sharland Cycles 5k Fun Run & Walk Series
Sharland Cycles 5k Fun Run & Walk Series
Next event Wednesday 29 November 2023
A series of 5k events for runners and walkers on Wednesday evenings, starts 1 November thru 20 December, then restarts 7 February thru 27 March.
Based at Club Waimea on Lower Queen St, Richmond. Google maps HERE
Event registration from 5:30pm to 6pm in the car park at the side of Club Waimea, look out for the Waimea Harriers flag.
Safety briefing at 6:00pm at Club Waimea, followed immediately by the Walkers start and then all Runners 10 minutes later.
A different course each week, on pavements and trails.
$3 entry (free for school kids and youth students).
Spot prizes every week after the event in Club Waimea and a series major prize of a pair of running shoes drawn on the last night 27 March.

Club Waimea after the 5k prizegiving approx 7:30pm
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 29 November 2023 at Club Waimea (after the Sharland Cycles 5k and spot prize draw). Please consider joining our team of volunteers on the committee.
We'll also be announcing the winners of this year’s President’s and Sportsmanship trophies and presenting other trophies earned by members during the winter season.
So come along, have your say, help celebrate our winners and enjoy some free nibbles.

these runs have no marshals, no cones,
no entry fee, (a few exceptions) you just turn up and enjoy.
Times are taken and published for all events.
All competitors enter at their own risk with safety being
the priority for all competitors, observing all traffic and
safety rules is a must eg. run on footpaths,
give way to all cars etc.
Failure to do so may result in a ban from future events.
Race start at 3.45pm for walkers and early runners
Runners start 4.00pm unless otherwise advised

With a number of events coming up in the next few weeks, we will need helpers please.
